Pollution Control and Prevention

All businesses and individuals are responsible for preventing pollution incidents and complying with environmental legislation. Those responsible for pollution incidents are likely to be fined, have to pay for the pollution to be cleaned up, and in some cases face custodial sentences. Thousands of pollution incidents occur each year however the majority could be prevented if the right control measures and procedures are put in place to reduce the risk of incident occurring in the first instance and containing and cleaning up any spillage that does occur.
